Gatlinburg

The biggest tourism-based mountain town in Tennessee, making it for one of the biggest in the United States, is our own Gatlinburg, TN right at the main entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The city of Gatlinburg is an interesting combination of very tightly compacted modern attractions and historic Appalachia right in the highlands of the Smoky Mountains. These aren’t the foothills of the Smokies, these are the Smokies! No trip to East Tennessee is complete without visiting Gatlinburg.

How Far From Wears Valley is Gatlinburg? Gatlinburg is 30-40 minutes driving distance from the center of Wears Valley. The easiest way to get there is to drive to Pigeon Forge, then turn right on the main parkway at Stoplight #3 and keep going for another 12-15 minutes.
