Wears Valley has an entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that is a wonderful vacation spot called Metcalf Bottoms. Metcalf Bottoms is truly the gem of Wears Valley. Accessed from Line Springs Road off Wears Valley Road you will drive into Smoky Mountain paradise with a picnic area, stream, walkways, and more. Connect to Little River Road turn right and go to Gatlinburg, turn left and end up in Townsend near Cades Cove and the Townsend Wye. What could be better for a vacation location?
What is there to do in Wears Valley? Plenty, if it is fun you seek and if it is peace and quiet you are after you can have that also! Fun things to do on Wears Valley Road would include the Alpine Mountain Coaster, Wears Valley Ziplines, Antique Shopping at several locations, unique shopping at Lanier’s General Store, and Moonshine Ridge Country Store. Find some fine fixins at Paw Paw’s Catfish Shack or stop for breakfast at Hillbilly’s. That will give you an idea of the local businesses that are fun to visit along Wears Valley Road.
